The endorsement of Atiku, a founding member of the group, came at the end of the group’s one-day meeting in Abuja on Thursday. According to the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting at Yar’Adua Centre, the group agreed to endorse Atiku on account of his record as a democrat and a unifier. It also called on security operatives to be impartial and focus on their main mandate of preserving and protecting lives and property of everyNigeria and foreigners alike. It urged monitor groups and other watchdog agencies in the conduct of the election to conduct themselves above board and ensure a hitch-freeelection in February 16 and on March 2, 2019. The group also admonished electorates to conduct themselves in an orderly manner by casting their votes and be willing to stand to protect their votes.
